So I am exhausted today and thought if I could get all the kids down for a nap, I might be able to catch a few moments of one myself. I thought I would share the conversation Juliana and I had about this.
Mommy: Juliana, I think we should all take a nap today because we could all use some rest so we can have fun when daddy gets home.
Juliana: Um, mommy, I think I don't need a nap, I am all grown up and can just watch a movie.
Mommy: Juliana, even grown-ups take naps sometimes. Mommy takes naps.
Juliana: That's because you work hard and get tired.
Mommy: What about daddy, he takes naps too.
Juliana: Well, he is just kind of a big kid.
Now how can you argue with that kind of logic? LOL!

A Budding Artist
Juliana has really been into crafts and drawing lately. She was sitting down with her magna doodle and told me she was going to draw me a picture. So I sat and waited and she showed me a beautiful flower that she drew for me. So being the mom I am, I took a picture to share. She said it was a sun flower. So cute!

2009 Happy New Year
We didn't really do anything special for New Years. Just hung out at home and watched the Dick Clark special. I guess that is how you tell that you are getting old. Well, that and the fact I needed a shot of espresso to stay awake. LOL!
This is the first year that I am actually setting goals for the year. When we were little we were prompted to make resolutions, which I have never met anyone to meet their resolutions and most people are disappointed by the end of January. That is why the first thing that went in my mouth on January 1st was a leftover Christmas cookie. I wanted to make sure I started the year off with no false obligations or hopes. Now I can't be disappointed.
I have set a goal to lose this extra weight. It is a very manageable goal and I also placed mini goals throughout the year to help me get there. I could post a beginning picture, but I wouldn't want to break the monitor or someone to alert the local marine mammal stranding network because you thought you saw a beached whale. Ha! Seriously - this is the year we should all grab hold and take charge of our health. I even took it upon myself to fire that money hogging doctor - my endocrinologist.
I also want to get into digital scrapbooking. I am pathetically behind on the girls scrapbooks and I think that the digital process might help me get them up to date. Which just so happens to be my goal. By next year these 2 princesses should have up to date scrapbooks.
In addition to these I want to take some sewing classes and a few more photography ones. I am excited about making some time for myself and I think bettering myself in these areas is a great way to do it.
Welcome to 2009. I hope that everyone's new year is filled with exciting things. And go ahead and scrap those resolutions, just make an achievable goal or two. Happy New Year!
